Guerrilla Girls Broadband Join Send-Off for the Abortion Access Freedom Ride, in Union Square
Broadband Guerrilla Girls Gerda Taro, Pearl Primus and Minnette De Silva Joined the Send-Off for the Abortion Access and Stop Patriarchy Freedom Ride, in Union Square! Led by Sunsara Taylor, the Abortion Access Freedom Riders will be traveling by van across the US, stopping in places where abortion access is severely threatened, like North Dakota and Mississippi. Checkout their route here.
The NY Freedom Riders (another group is setting off from San Francisco) spoke about their reasons for joining the Ride and reaching out to threatened abortion providers and the women who depend on them. Gerda Taro, Pearl Primus and Minnette De Silva joined the rally in solidarity because abortion access is in a huge crisis in America! We described our Map Abortion! project as a sort of Virtual Freedom Ride, which we hope will become a crowd-sourced collection site for information, shared histories of reproductive justice activism, and legal details. Pearl explained that Guerrilla Girls Broadband's Blog will repost daily posts from the Freedom Riders, to help spread the word.
