Second Life Real Estate
Second Life Real Estate
Dear Broads,
In the Museums section of The New York Times on March 12 there was an article about an artist, Cao Fei, who invented an avatar in Second Life called China Tracy. China recently sold a piece of virtual real estate to a collector for $100,000! Plus, the sense I get from the article is that he or she only has access to this virtual real estate for two years.
There is a paragraph about how more than 1,000 museums and galleries have been established in Second Life. The New Museum's media arts affiliate, Rhizome, co-presented an exhibition in Second Life and is planning more. The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA opened a replica of itself (how boring is that idea?), as has the Newseum, an interactive museum of news in Washington.
See you in Second Life!
