buffer zone opinion from the u.s. supreme court
"WASHINGTON -- The Supreme Court unanimously struck down Thursday a Massachusetts law allowing abortion clinics to have a buffer zone keeping protesters at least 35 feet from entrances and walkways." (from Huffington Post)
Efforts to protect women from harassment by anti-abortion groups outside women's health and abortion clinics were dealt a huge blow by the Supreme Court's opinion. The justices underestimate the level of violence suffered by women as they approach clinics across the nation. This ruling means that local law enforcement and Reproductive Justice advocates have to be even more vigilant than ever to support and protect women
